How much space is under the Classic Bed?

The Classic Bed has a generous 9" of underbed space, allowing for smart underbed storage. We offer Underbed Storage Bins and Classic Underbed Drawers for organization.

Do I need a box spring?

While you can use a box spring with the Classic Bed, we highly recommend against it. The slats are perfectly spaced at just under 3” apart to evenly hold up your mattress while providing optimum support and breathability.

How strong is the Classic Bed?

Very strong. The Classic Bed is designed not to squeak or creak, and has a weight capacity of 1,500 lbs+.

The Hybrid Mattress is covered by a 15-year warranty. The Sheet Sets and Marbled Wool Rug are covered by one-year warranties. At this time, we don’t offer a warranty on any other items. Once you send back the product and it’s checked in at our warehouse, we'll issue a full refund. For the Hybrid Mattress, we offer the same 100 Day Trial, but because your body can take a few weeks to adjust to a new feel and support level, we ask that you sleep on it for a minimum of 30 days to give yourself the full experience. We do our best to make sure all boxes for the Classic Bed, and your entire order arrive together, but sometimes they may arrive at different times. Unfortunately, this is out of our control. How does the Classic Bed ship?

The Classic Bed ships in 2-4 boxes depending on the configuration selected. Although the boxes can be carried by one person, it’s truly a breeze with two, as they are designed to fit upstairs and through hallways, as needed. Our core material for bedroom essentials. The wood we use is repurposed from rubberwood trees at the end of their latex-producing lifecycles. Does the Classic Bed release VOCs? What are VOCs? Are they covered by the GREENGUARD Gold certification?

VOCs are Volatile Organic Compounds, which are compounds that easily become vapors or gasses. Though they are often associated with burning fuel such as gasoline, wood, coal, or natural gas, they also come from everyday consumer products. For a GREENGUARD Gold certification, our VOC levels needed to be ≤ 0.25 mg/m³. We tested at <0.004 mg/m³, which is 30 plus times under the VOC level criteria. We feel really good about these numbers and know it makes a real difference in the world and for customers. The Classic Bed—as well as the Classic Headboard, Classic Nightstand, Nest Dresser, the Classic Bedside Tray, C Side Table, Pedestal Side Table, and the Hybrid Mattress—cause less indoor pollution, meaning cleaner air, and a better environment for you.

How tall is the Classic Bed?

The Classic Bed has 9" of clearance and the top of the rails are 13". There is a 3/4" mattress lip so mattresses will sit on the slats that are about 12 and 1/4" above the ground. The Classic Bed + Pillowboard has a height of 35" from bottom of the legs to the top of the Pillowboard. The Classic Bed + Headboard has a height of 39" from the bottom of the legs to the top of the Classic Headboard.

What color is the Classic Bed?

The Classic Bed is available in four timeless finishes—Walnut, Natural, Espresso, and Grey. Because we use 100% real wood, you can expect unique grains and slight color variation. These subtle imperfections are indicative of authentic wood, and should be celebrated. The color will appear slightly warmer in artificial lighting, cooler in natural lighting, and darker in dim lighting

The Classic Bed (Frame Only) is available to purchase without the Pillowboard or the Classic Headboard.

Our primary manufacturing partners of the Classic Bed are currently based in Vietnam and the U.S.

What is the difference between the Classic Bed and the Classic Daybed?

The Classic Daybed is a twin sized bed, made with the same materials and care as the Classic Bed, that comes with three Pillowboards for versatility and comfort. Though intended to sit between the mattress and wall on one short rail and one long rail, they can be configured however best suits your space. The Classic Headboard is not available for the Classic Daybed at this time.

How long does it take to set-up/breakdown the Classic Bed?

Once you remove the pieces from the packaging, the Classic Bed can be assembled in around five minutes by one person without tools. For those who prefer to take their time, you're still likely to be all set-up in under fifteen minutes.
